A joint venture that built a baseball stadium in Worcester, Mass., will pay $1.9 million to settle allegations that it misrepresented the amount of work that it allocated to disadvantaged businesses. When the joint venture won the bid, it agreed to ensure 20% of the work went to minority- and women-owned businesses, but the state attorney general’s office says the joint venture overstated the participation by MWBEs.
