An Ohio appeals court decision required a contractor to pay nearly $65,000 in attorneys’ fees to a subcontractor that successfully brought a $20,000 Prompt Pay Act claim against the contractor. Courts in the state also “could assess [attorneys’] fees even when the subcontractor does not recover the total amount that it claims that it is owed,” an attorney writes.
